Vladislav Pedder
Vladislav Pedder is a writer and research translator whose work focuses on the philosophy of pessimism, the tragic, and antinatalist thought.
Born on July 7, 1998, in Omsk, he has Estonian roots and holds a higher education degree in Economics (Moscow International University). Collaborating with the publishing house «Totenburg», he promotes philosophical pessimism.
In 2024–2025, he carried out a large-scale project to compile and translate into Russian an extensive collection of works by the Norwegian philosopher Peter Wessel Zapffe, publishing them in print in Russian for the first time.
In January 2025, his first authored monograph, “The Experience of the Tragic”, was published, marking the beginning of the dilogy “The Tragic”.
Among his future projects are the translation and publication of works by Philipp Mainländer, Ulrich Horstmann, and Herman Tønnessen, as well as the completion of the second volume of the dilogy “The Tragic”, dedicated to cosmic pessimism and process ontology. A distinct intellectual prospect, which the author describes as “unrealizable,” is the publication in Russian of works by contemporary authors such as Sarah Perry and David Benatar.
